     Visit Northern Thailand: Mission Project 2/20/2010  
Our team led by Rev Stan:  - left on 12th January and returned on 27th January.There are… boys and … girls in the Pakpingjai Hostels – Home of The Heart for these children.  Our group helped with maintenance, shared worship, taught English, made friends with them, built bridges of Christs love and had a few adventures.   You can  see some photos at the following web address   http://pakpingjainz.blogspot.com

CHILDREN’S CHOIR rehearses every Wednesday from 5.15pm to 5.50pm during school term time. Primary age children are welcome to join. Please contact Heekyung in the church office for more information
ALL-AGE CHOIR  7.30pm on Weds evenings.  
We are preparing for Easter.  New members are always welcome .  
BAY SINGERS (men’s group) are looking for at least one further voice to join in practices on Wednesday evenings between 6 and 7pm commencing 10 February.  Anyone interested could either come along on 10 February or phone Bill Duncan, 5757716 for further information

MUSOS GROUP  Saturday 10-11am.......who lead singing in the 9am services are looking for new members to join them for the coming term.  Please contact Doug Nyce if you are interested.  We're looking for singers and instrumentalists.    The commitment to lead involves singing two Sundays per month  (we split into two Musos groups to facilitate this).  The group leading each week usually rehearse for one hour on a Saturday morning at 10am prior to the Sunday on which they lead.

Our Sunday morning experience for children and youth begins in the 9.00am worship service.
Everyone is in worship together and at 9.20am the children leave worship for the Christian Education

The Creche for tiny babies and parents to retreat is in the Daisy Dempsey Room at the rear of the church.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT - TEA PARTY CHURCH
A tea party/community occasion for 0-7 years (pre-schoolers) and their families.  There will be china tea cups and teapot, food, a game, song & bible story. Coffee for parents.

COMMUNION  2nd Sunday of every month - Family communion is very important in our life at St Heliers and this is part of both worship services on the second Sunday of every month.  Children are welcome to take communion as long as their parents agree and we have lessons on the meaning of Communion as part of their Sunday morning Christian Education.

Also Monthly Early Morning Communion Service - Last Sunday of the month.  Informal communion - contemplative.  Time 8am-8.30am

BAPTISM  We are a church who pratices Baptisms for babies as well as adults and the Baptism is generally part of the morning worship services 9.00 or 10.30am services.  This is a wonderful act of commitment by the congregation, parents and family.  Preparation sessions for Baptism are offered by this Church.  Contact the Minister Rev. ST HELIERS CHURCH CHOIR  Under the directorship of Doug Nyce, this choir brings excellent music to special events as well as the regular 10.30am Sunday worship service.  For Christmas & Easter, extra members may join for the season.  We love to sing.  Those who cannot read music are welcome and should not feel disadvantaged.

NO PARKING ZONE: To improve traffic flow, the drive-through in front of the Church entrance and offices is now designated as a NO PARKING ZONE (Short term drop-off and pick-up only, please).

NON-PERISHABLE FOOD brought along each week, placed in the wicker basket in the foyer and dedicated with our offering is given to the Glen Innes Food Bank.

DOG CARING: Are you thinking about having a dog and would like a trial run?  Have I got a deal for you!  I am going away for 2 weeks (May 29th - June 13th) and Jessie's babysitter is also going away...so am wondering if some family would like to have Jessie for that time...definitely for payment.  Jessie is a 10yr old border collie/lab and absolutely wonderful.  Please contact Glenda on 528.4321 if you are interested.

     Youth & Young Adults 5/31/2008  
FRIDAY NIGHT FRIEND-ZY 
Friday night event for school years 5,6,7 and 8 (but you must be ten years old!!)
6.30pm-9.00pm every Friday night.  
This is a combined church/community centre programme.
Parents must commit to assist one Friday night in 6.
The emphasis will be on developing leadership, commitment to service and building friendships across schools.  Christian vlaues will underlay all programmes.
Those who are not parents are needed to help also.   Please apply, no age limit.  Young people can sign up today.
Cost: $5 (maximum for a family is $10).

TEEN TEAM NEWS:   Years 6-9 inclusive     Meet downstairs on Sunday mornings
Youth helpers age 10+ wanted: Kids Club terms 2&3.
Performance Group for young people & children - singing and aspects of performing - rehearsing a small musical for presentation. Would you like to learn about this and actually get to do it? Every Tuesday afternoon 4.15- 5.30 pm starting May 1st. - At church - Led by Rev Pauline Stewart. Terms 2 and 3 only    Register with church office 575 6098.

YAdS is a group organized by, run by members of the group, with guidance from Reverend Pauline Stewart, and Youth Leaders - Vikas Velugu and Fran Sawtell. 

We will meet every Sunday at the church from 6-8pm. Between 6-7pm there will be a simple but filling meal available for a small donation, and this will be time for games, discussion etc and generally enjoying the company of others. At 7pm we will begin our time of youth oriented worship, led by members of the group.   The programme will nurture our Young Peoples’ Christian faith and leadership.
Guest speakers, music, projects, outings and a wide variety of other activities will ensure that these will be evenings our young people will enjoy and will want to bring their friends to.
Remember – a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet – so don’t be afraid to come alone!
